He has experience in microwaves, optoelectronics, IP networks, planning and development of telecommunications services, digital TV and optical communications. He is currently a researcher at CPqD, where research optical communications systems, and he is a full professor at Universidade Paulista — UNIP where teaches electrical engineering disciplines.

Amílcar Careli César received the B.S. degree in electrical engineering from the University of São Paulo, São Carlos, Brazil, in 1976, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from the State University of Campinas, Campinas, Brazil, in 1982 and 1990, respectively. Since 1977, he has been with the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, School of Engineering of São Carlos, University of São Paulo, where he is currently full professor. His areas of research include optical communications and microwave devices, with emphasis on numerical methods applied to the modeling of propagation of electromagnetic waves in dielectric and non-reciprocal guides, and algorithms for solving resource allocation problems in optical and wireless networks.

He graduated in Electrical Engineering (1982) and majored in Mathematics (1983) by the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, obtained a Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering (1986) and a Master's Degree in Computer Science (1988) by the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro. He obtained his doctorate in physics from the Imperial College of Science Technology and Medicine, London, UK (1992). Professor at the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP) since 1995, he reached Full Professor in 2005. Fellow of the Optical Society of America (OSA), 2011. Senior Member of the IEEE, 2000. Area Coordinator of FAPESP : Engineering I since 2014. His lines of research focus on the following topics: integrated photonics, optical fibers, antennas, microwave, computational electromagnetism, optical communications and telecommunications. Maria Thereza Rocco Giraldi

She holds a degree in Electrical Engineering with emphasis in Telecommunications from the Fluminense Federal University (1986), a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (1989) and a PhD in Electrical Engineering from the State University of Campinas (1995). She is currently associate professor at the Military Engineering Institute with experience in Electrical Engineering, with emphasis in Communications and Optical Sensors, working mainly in the following subjects: optical communication devices, WDM systems, WDM networks, optical systems in free space, raman optical amplifiers, EDFA, hybrids and optical sensors . She was President of the Brazilian Society of Microwave and Optoelectronics (SBMO) from August 2010 to August 2012, a member of SBMO's Deliberative Council since August 2012, present Treausurer of SBMO and Editor of the Journal of Microwaves, Optoelectronics and Electromagnetic Applications (JMOe) since March of 2010.

Darli Augusto de Arruda Mello

He studied Electrical Engineering at the RWTH-Aachen, Germany, and at the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP), Brazil, where he graduated in 2000. In 2002 he received the M. Sc. Degree from the Institute for Communications Engineering (LNT) at the Munich University of Technology (TUM), Germany. During his master studies he carried out both experimental and theoretical work at the Siemens research labs in Munich. In 2006 he received the Ph.D. degree from UNICAMP after research stays at the TUM and at the California Institute of Technology (Caltech). After his Ph.D. studies he spent one year with Padtec Optical Components and Systems as a senior technology engineer. From August 2008 to March 2014 he was with the Electrical Engineering Department (ENE) of the University of Brasilia (UnB) as Assistant Professor. He is now an Assistant Professor at the Communications Department (DECOM) of the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering (FEEC), University of Campinas (Unicamp). His main reseach interests are optical transmission and networking. Darli Mello was a member of several conferences, including OFC, ACP, ICC and Globecom. He was the TPC co-chair of SBrT 2011, and of the Optical Communications Subcommittee of LAOP 2016.

She graduated in Electronic and Telecommunications Engineering from the Pontifícia Universidade Católica de Minas Geras, 1980. She holds a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from the State University of Campinas, 1984. After two periods abroad (British Telecom Laboratoris, England), she concluded A Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the State University of Campinas in 1999. She worked with a researcher in the Microwave area at the Aerospace Technical Center (CTA) from 1985 to 1986 and as a Telecommunication researcher at the Telecommunication Research and Development Center (CPqD), from 1987 to 2006. She is currently a member of the University of São Paulo as a Ph.D. Professor at the São Carlos School of Engineering, Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (2006 to present). She works in the area of Electrical Engineering, with emphasis on Telecommunications. Her work focuses mainly on technologies associated with optical transmission systems and optical networks.

Joao Batista Rosolem received the Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Sao Paulo, Sao Carlos, Brazil, in 2005. Since 1990, he is a researcher of CPqD — Telecommunication Research and Development Center, Campinas, Brazil. He has been involved in the managing of many projects of research, design and characterization of optical sensing system and optical sensors applied to electrical power systems. He has also been engaged in the development of telecommunication trunk and access wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) transmission systems. Dr. Rosolem is member of OSA and SPIE societies and is author of over 150 journal and conference papers. He is the holder of 3 U.S. patents and more than 20 additional patents are pending in the Brazil.

Graduated in Electrical Engineering by the University of Brasilia, UNB (197MsC in Electrical Engineering by the State University of Campinas UNICAMP (1981) and PhD in Electrical Engineering by the State University of Campinas (1992). He is currently prof. Holder at UNICAMP. He has experience in Electrical Engineering with emphasis in Electronic Engineering, working mainly in the following subjects: mobile communications, antennas, mobile telephony, pbg and planar antennas. Specialty in Microelectronics projects of Digital Analog and RF Integrated Circuits. Professor of Electronics at UNICAMP since 1974, he has done research at NSF-Nano Fabrication Facitity at Cornell University -USA in GaAs Submicron Transistors. He has visited research centers and universities in the United States, Sweden, Portugal, Germany and Italy recently visited Japan in DoCoMo, CRL and KDDI research labs. Has great participation in national and international projects developing MEMS technology- Microelectromechanical System- and made the prototype of MEMS shunt keys in cooperation with the LNLS.

Has a degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of São Paulo (1974), a master's and a doctorate from the same institution and a postdoctoral degree from the University of New Mexico, USA. He was General Coordinator of Research Projects Development and Innovation and Substitute Director of CTI — Renato Archer Information Technology Center of the Ministry of Science and Technology. He is currently a professor at the University of São Paulo, a member of the editorial board of IEEE Proceedings, an associate editor of the IEEE Antennas Wireless and Propagation Letters, a reviewer of the IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation, a member of the IEEE Publications Board and a board member of IEEE — MTTS — Microwave Theory and Techniques Society and the IEEE AP-S Antennas and Propagation Society. His experience in Electrical Engineering has an emphasis on Telecommunications.
